Try to Break Your AI on Purpose

When I taught in northern Zambia, I was often handed the toughest classes — and I learned to find the weaknesses early, while there was still time to fix them. Red-teaming your AI works the same way: try to break it on purpose, before someone with worse intentions does.

In plain English, red-teaming means asking your AI to do things it shouldn't. Can you get the customer chatbot to reveal internal data? Can you trick the screening tool with a rigged resume? Can the image generator be coaxed into something defamatory? You're playing the attacker so you can play the defender afterward.

Do it before launch, and repeat after every major change. Every weakness you find in a conference room is one you don't discover in a headline.
