Most AI Is Minimal Risk. That's the Point.
Let me say the quiet part out loud: most AI is minimal risk, and the EU AI Act leaves it alone.
Your spam filter. The AI that suggests the next video. Inventory software. The autocomplete in your email. These systems get no new duties under the Act, because the risk they pose is tiny. The law was designed this way on purpose.
The panic around AI regulation imagines inspectors reviewing every chatbot. The reality is triage: heavy rules where the stakes are high, a light touch everywhere else. That's what risk-based means.
That said, minimal risk is not the same as no responsibility. You still shouldn't feed messy, biased data into a system and expect clean results. Don't automate chaos, even when the law isn't watching. Your customers can tell the difference, and so can your results.
