Education AI Is High-Risk Under the Act

As a doctoral student in education technology, this one is personal: the EU AI Act classifies education AI as high-risk.

Specifically, AI that decides who gets into a school or program, AI that grades exams and evaluates learning, and AI that assesses which level of education a student should receive. All high-risk. All carrying the full homework: documentation, testing, human oversight, the works.

Why? Because the stakes are a student's future. An admissions algorithm doesn't just sort applications. It shapes lives. A grading system doesn't just score answers. It can quietly decide who gets opportunities and who doesn't.

If your AI touches a student's trajectory, treat it like it matters. The law already does.
