Cancel the Tool Nobody Uses

End-of-year exercise for your business: list every software subscription you pay for, and cancel the ones nobody's opened in a month.

This isn't just about money — though the money matters. Unused tools are where your risk quietly lives. Every forgotten account is a login someone could misuse, a place where business data sits unguarded, a vendor with access you stopped thinking about. The tool you forgot is the tool nobody's watching.

AI tools multiply this problem because they're so easy to start. Free trial here, pilot there — six months later you're paying for four tools and using one. Each one holds a little piece of your business data and a little piece of your budget.

So once a year, do the purge. For each tool ask: who uses it, what would break if it vanished tomorrow, and is the answer to both questions "nobody" and "nothing"? Cancel it.

A smaller stack is a safer stack. And the money you save can fund the one AI experiment actually worth running.
