AI Is Only as Good as the Data You Feed It
Everyone wants to talk about models. Almost nobody wants to talk about data, which is a shame, because data is where AI projects are quietly won or lost. A model trained on messy, biased, or stale data doesn't become wise. It becomes a confident repeater of the mess.
Data governance for AI is plain-English housekeeping. Know what data feeds each tool. Know where it came from and whether you had the right to use it. Keep it clean and current — the customer list from three reorganizations ago is not training material. And control who can feed new data in, because one careless upload can poison the well.
In grants work, we checked eligibility before disbursing a dollar. Check your data before you let a model learn from it. Same discipline, new century.
